Body Wisdom with Masankho Banda
Mid MOtion Collective, LLC, joins the University of Missouri Chancellor's Diversity Initiative, the University of Missouri's Gaines Oldham Black Cultural Center and 89.5 KOPN Community Radio in welcoming Masankho Banda for two events:
African Dance
Wednesday | Sept. 30 | 4-5:30 p.m.
Gaines Oldham Black Cultural Center, 813 Virginia Avenue
Accomplished dancer, drummer and choreographer Masankho brings his knowledge of dance from his upbringing in Malawi and his studies in the U.S. to offer an interactive cultural immersion into African movement and music. He invites local drummers and percussionists to bring their instruments and join in this community event.

Using the art of storytelling and African drumming, Masankho will immerse the audience into the stories of their lives, the suffering and the healing, the grieving and the peace, of themselves as individuals and as a part of the greater community of the World.
These events are free and open to the public. Thanks to Mid Missouri PeaceWorks, University of Missouri Black Studies and Students for Progressive Action for their support in this venture.
