Facilitator Biographies
Columbia local Victoria Day has had a more than 25 year loving relationship with movement and magick. Her studies of the human body include modern dance, yoga, tai chi, contact improvisation, Trance Dance, moving meditation, Soul Motion and Interplay, as well as massage therapy. For more than a decade, she has been choreographing and performing art pieces that include poetry, drumming, movement, politicks and community development. All that she does is connected with, inspired by, and an homage to, her deep belief in the Divine and in the necessity for peace in our lives.
Lisa (Jasmine) Bruce loves to facilitate experiences that allow people to tap into their own power and wisdom and has been doing that sort of thing for more than 15 years. She has led group exercise in the water and on land, taught an experiential movement class for massage therapists, and has been certified by the Aquatic Exercise Association as an aquatic instructor and personal trainer. Jasmine's studies include several methods of using physiologically-sound principles while encouraging expressive, healing movement.
Melissa Nigh traces the roots of her life-long passion for dance and music through one of her mother's recollections. While pregnant with her, Melissa's mother could feel her kicking “in time” to the beat of her father playing the banjo. Melissa started dancing in the womb, and hasn't stopped since. She strives to work with others to find inner balance and peace through movement, as well as learning to communicate these values through all aspects of life.
